 Our Story 

Sugarcane Studio Founders

French Patisserie with Asian Flavours

Sugarcane Studio was founded in 2018 by Taiwanese Pastry Chef, Fang-Yu Lin, after several years working in hotels, restaurants and desert shops in London and Taipei. Initially trading at markets, including the wonderful Bath Farmers Market, we opened our first shop in the centre of Bath in 2020. In 2022 we were honoured to be named Best Cafe in Bath at the Bath Life Awards.

At Sugarcane Studio, we are passionate about creating delicious treats that are both visually pleasing and full of flavour. We specialise in macarons, choux buns, and a variety of matcha, black sesame and tea-inspired desserts. Our range of desserts, cakes and pastries are all handmade with the highest quality ingredients.

We have won a variety of awards for our products, including 1 and 2 star awards from the Guild of Fine Food in 2020, 2021 and 2023 and category winners in the 2021 and 2023 Great British Food Awards.

Our patisserie is located just round the corner frmo the picturesque Pulteney Bridge in Bath and we also offer an interesting selection of drinks and locally roasted coffee to accompany your sweet treats. Come and indulge in our offerings and enjoy the Sugarcane Studio experience.
